Council Secretary Milton Sakala has described current road works by the Zambia National Service (ZNS) on the GT- Vyamba stretch as impressive.
The Mpulungu Town Council has engaged the Zambia National Service to carry out SPOT MAINTENANCE WORKS on critical roads in the District using the full set of Council Earth Moving Equipment which has been procured with funds from the 2022 CDF.
The scope of works to be done include:
Clearing and Grabbing, Road and Drainage Formation,Repair of Eroded Sections, Gravelling , Culvert Clearing and Distilling.
Speaking after conducting a check on road works done so far, Council Secretary Milton Sakala expressed happiness with the works by ZNS.
Mr Sakala thanked the ZNS personnel for ensuring that the GT road which has been in a diplorable state is now accessible.
Mr Sakala was however quick to stress that road maintenance and rehabilitation works have commenced and will continue in other areas following the procurement of full set of Earth Moving Equipment for the District.
Meanwhile ZNS Senior Road Inspector Land Development for Northern Province, Innocent Mwale has assured of quality works on the GT Road up to Chitimbwa area.
Engineer Mwale has since thanked Mpulungu Town Council for the financial and technical support and for also considering ZNS in this partnership.
